Consulting Experience

 

Doctor James Luckow has been awarded the Teaching Excellence Award from Concordia University and has authored The Technical Drawing Workbook, published by Addison Wesley Publishers. He has also been a Senior Associate of JAL Training Ltd. for over fifteen years. Senior Associates of JAL Training Ltd have designed and managed technical and vocational education projects (sample) and programs for clients in Canada, Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Projects have included assessment, feasibility and evaluation studies, curriculum and materials development and the training of teachers, technicians and education managers. Our associates have provided services on sites abroad, as well as managed fellowship programs in Canada.

 

JAL Training Ltd. is a privately-owned federally chartered company which draws its technical experts from Quebec's Colleges of General and Professional Education (CEGEPs)---a system of some fifty institutions which offer post-secondary (grades 12 to 14) professional, technical and vocational programs as well as general pre-university programs in arts and sciences. JAL Training Ltd.'s network includes the expertise of faculty and staff in the range of programs offered in the CEGEP system. Our resources are also drawn from the education and technical faculties of leading Canadian universities, from the staff of the Quebec Provincial Ministry of Education, from school boards responsible for secondary-level vocational education and from private-sector enterprises with whom we have established alliances.

 

Our basic orientation to technical and vocational education comprises the Competency-Based Training (CBT) approach, which emphasizes performance outcomes and utilizes a modularized curriculum. The evaluation of our trainees' abilities determine their progress through learning modules and ensure successful completion.
